Google AdSense isn’t a money maker anymore

If you’ve been a Google AdSense publisher for a few years, you’ve seen how dramatically the revenues have dropped, with a sharp decline in February of 2009 but since then, it has hit new lows.

A publisher who has access to historical data will see that the revenue derived from each click has been divided by between 5 and 8 while the click rate has melted at least three times.

So, if you web properties haven’t grown by either a factor of 15 to 24, you’ve seen a spectacular revenue drop.

Since last year, most web publishers have managed to make their web destinations much more interactive, useful and attractive but even if that has helped double the unique visitor count, it doesn’t make up for the huge loss in daily revenue — not by a long shot.

The ugly thruth about AdSense is that…

  • it’s either hit by the recession and therefore takes a larger share of each click for itself; or
  • its advertisers are feeling the heat from the failing economy and therefore, advertise less or with less money.

It’s very hard to know which case may be going on but in whichever one it is, the end result is exactly the same for publishers who can’t even call their AdSense revenue “pocket money” anymore because the monthly checks are so ridiculously low.

If you’re experiencing this AdSense revenue freefall, you better start thinking about the alternatives and for the most part, it’s not going to be a competitor, like Yahoo!’s Publisher Network (in which NOBODY can seem to get admitted) or AdBrite. Unless your web site is getting millions of unique visitors a day, AdSense and similar ad networks will NOT be enough to even pay your rent or mortgage.

It’s a sad story, really.

Just a year ago, it was still possible to make a decent living off AdSense but now, it’s mathematically impossible.

So, what do you do?

You have to think of something — my suggestion is that you should buy my 99$ web services reseller store and market it to your customer base. As a rule of thumb, if your site gets 10k visitors daily, you’re probably getting between 5$ and 20$ through PPC ad networks (if you’re lucky) but if you sell your domain names $25, you could pocket a healthy profit of $16.51 with the “Basic” buy rate at $8.49 and $17.71 with the “Pro” buy rate at $7.29 — wow!

With just one (1) domain name sale per day, you could make more than with an entire day of PPC and since both revenue generation models are perfectly compatible and complementary, you can even keep you AdSense ads on while you gradually entice your visitors to register all their web services with you, starting with their domain names!

If you’re tired of getting stressed out because the end of the month is coming, you know you owe it to yourself to try something else that’s immensely more reliable, like selling domain names which means annually recurring sales and web hosting which usually implies monthly recurring sales. In other words, the longer you resell web services, the richer you’ll get.

Seriously, AdSense has failed most of its web publishers and the rest of us are barely getting by — even with visitor count numbers!

Switching to selling domain names is a smart move and once you become a reseller, you too will have a store like mine where all your customers can puchase their domain names, web hosting, SSL certificates and just about every other web service you can think of… all for a profit that’s mostly end up in your pockets.

Don’t let this opportunity pass you by, it’s solid, proven and reliable. Get your online store now!
